Badrinath Ki Dulhania (English: Badrinath's Bride) is a 2017 Indian romantic comedy film, directed by Shashank Khaitan, and produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner. Starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead, the film marks the second installment of a franchise that began with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014). Principal photography for the film began in May 2016, and the film was released on 10 March 2017, on the Holi weekend. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics and was a box office success. It was the ninth-highest grossing Bollywood film of 2017. At the 63rd Filmfare Awards, it received eight nominations, including Best Film, Best Director for Khaitan, Best Actor for Dhawan, and Best Actress for Bhatt.
